Food Retail And Fresh Produce Sites

Supermarkets, butcheries, fruit and veg rooms, bakeries and convenience stores all depend on stable temperatures and regular checks. In Durban’s heat and humidity, a small fault can turn into product loss quickly, especially where doors open often and stock moves all day. We service cold rooms, freezer rooms and display chillers so stock stays within the right range and staff can work without constant temperature drift.

For these sites we look at door seals, evaporator condition, defrost cycles, drainage, temperature logging and power supply stability. If the site is in a busy centre or near the coast, corrosion and salt air can shorten component life, so maintenance intervals need to be realistic not just on paper.

  • Cold rooms for meat, dairy, produce and prepared food
  • Freezer rooms for frozen stock and backup storage
  • Display chillers for front-of-house retail
  • Temperature logging for internal records and inspections

Hospitality Kitchens, Bars And Guest Facilities

Restaurants, hotels, guest houses and catering kitchens need cooling that can cope with long trading hours, heat from cooking equipment and heavy door use. On the KZN coast we often see systems working harder in summer when kitchens are full and occupancy is high. That means maintenance must cover both comfort cooling and food storage equipment.

We support these sites with air-conditioning maintenance, refrigeration repairs and breakdown call-outs. Where a kitchen or bar area is tied to trading licence conditions or hygiene checks, keeping records tidy helps when auditors or municipal inspectors ask for them. A missed service can become a service issue for the whole site very quickly.

  • Kitchen cold storage and prep area refrigeration
  • Dining room and guest room air-conditioning
  • Bar and drinks display cooling
  • Service contracts with planned visits before busy periods

Warehousing, Distribution And Logistics

Warehouses and distribution centres around Durban North, Pinetown and Ballito often need a different approach. The main concerns are loading bay exposure, door cycling, dust, forklift damage and changes in occupancy through the day. Some sites also need temperature control for stock that cannot sit on a hot floor while vehicles are being loaded.

We plan maintenance around shift times and access windows so work does not slow dispatch. Our team checks electrical faults, refrigerant leaks, controls, fan motors and temperature hold times. If a site has sections with different load profiles, we can prioritise the rooms that lose temperature fastest first. That saves product, and usually saves power too.

  • Ambient stores with spot cooling needs
  • Temperature sensitive stock holding areas
  • High traffic loading and dispatch zones
  • Planned maintenance for multiple units on one site

Offices, Call Centres And Client-Facing Spaces

Office parks, call centres and reception areas need reliable air-conditioning more than constant adjustment. When systems are not maintained, people notice it in uneven temperatures, noise and dust, and that affects work output. In Durban’s coastal weather, humidity makes indoor comfort harder to manage, especially in buildings with lots of glass or full occupancy.

We service ducted units, split systems and packaged commercial air-conditioning for these environments. Our focus is on clean filters, correct gas levels, airflow, drain lines and electrical condition. For busy offices, planned visits after hours or early morning are often the best option. It keeps staff comfortable without interrupting the day.

Healthcare, Pharmacies And Sensitive Storage

Clinics, laboratories, pharmacies and medical supply rooms need careful temperature control and clear service records. These sites can’t afford guesswork. If equipment starts drifting outside set temperatures the issue needs to be found quickly, whether it is a sensor problem, airflow issue or electrical fault.

We support these sites with cold room servicing, temperature logging, leak detection and compliance checks. Because access is often controlled and the product risk is high, our technicians work methodically and keep the paperwork in order. That is important when stock integrity and patient safety are linked to the same room.

  • Temperature-sensitive storage areas
  • Backup refrigeration for critical stock
  • Regular logging and service records
  • Fast breakdown response when readings move out of range

Industrial Plants And Mixed-Use Facilities

Factories, workshops and mixed-use premises usually have a mix of cooling needs. One area may need comfort cooling for staff while another needs process refrigeration or storage control. In these environments equipment can face vibration, dust, heat and long run times, so the service plan has to match actual site conditions.

We work across Glen Anil, Durban North, Umhlanga, Pinetown, Ballito and the South Coast, supporting sites that need regular upkeep and call-outs when something fails. From electrical fault finding to compressor and fan issues, we aim to catch the small faults before they lead to a full stop. A site in production all day does not benefit from general advice, it needs practical fixes that hold up under pressure.

  • Industrial refrigeration and process cooling
  • Staff comfort air-conditioning in plant and office areas
  • Breakdown support for ageing equipment
  • Maintenance plans that fit shift work and site access

Questions we get asked

How do we know which service plan suits our site?

We look at the type of product stored, how often doors open, how many people use the area and how critical the temperature is. That tells us whether you need routine maintenance, tighter monitoring or faster response times.

Do you only work in Durban city areas?

No, we work across Durban and the KZN coast, including Glen Anil, Durban North, Umhlanga, Pinetown, Ballito and the South Coast. Sites further out can still be scheduled if access and response times suit the job.

Can you support both refrigeration and air-conditioning on one contract?

Yes. Many sites need both, especially retail, hospitality and mixed-use premises. Combining them under one service plan makes record keeping easier and helps with planned shutdowns.
